Compensatory or comp time is a method by which an employee may earn time off with their supervisor’s approval. Comp time is calculated using the same formulas as overtime. Comp time must be taken within 30 days of being earned. If comp time is not taken, the employee will receive overtime compensation in the next pay period.

The Company encourages the use of flex scheduling and comp time as often as possible to keep overtime costs to a minimum. If an employee elects to take comp time in lieu of overtime, they must advise the business manger within 24 hours.
