Creating a credit memo

  1. In QuickBooks from the Home Screen select Customers
  2. Create Credit Memo/Refund
  3. Select the client that you are wanting to apply credit to from the “Customer:Job” box located in the upper left corner
  4. Enter todays date
  5. “Credit No” Should match the project/invoice you are applying the credit/refund towards
  6. In the “Description” Field type why we are giving credit/refund
  7. Enter the amount of the credit/refund
  8. The “Memo” field in the lower left corner should match “Description”
  9. Click “Save&Close”
