Performance Reviews
In general, our goal will be to conduct formal, written performance reviews once a year on the anniversary of the employee's hiring. At some time during the three months prior to the due date of the review, the immediate supervisor and employee should meet to discuss quality of work, attitude and goals. A copy of the written review, signed by the supervisor and the employee, will be placed in the employee's personnel file following the review session.
Performance reviews can be given more frequently if a supervisor feels it is necessary. Any employee may be placed on a performance improvement plan for up to one month or longer, at the discretion of his supervisor, when his performance has deteriorated and the supervisor believes it is necessary to impress upon the employee the need for improvement. Failure to achieve satisfactory performance or better during this period may result in transfer to another job more suited to the employee's capabilities or termination.
This language stating the Company's general practice of performance improvement plans does not modify the Company's right to terminate employees at will.
Pay/salary reviews are given once a year on the anniversary of the employee's hiring. They may or may not be done at the same time as the performance review. They are based on, but not limited to, cost-of-living adjustments, performance reviews, quality of work, merit, attitude and self-motivation, attendance and punctuality, and ability to work with others.
